Since December 2017 Holybrook Primary School, as part of the Exceed Academies Trust, has successfully operated an on-site behaviour provision called ‘The Horizon Centre’.

The Horizon Centre currently provides short-term intervention for primary school aged children who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and require a setting outside of a mainstream school on a short term basis. The aim of the centre is to enable the children to develop strategies to facilitate re-integration back into a mainstream school. Schools from across the Bradford district can access this short term provision for their children.

Due to a change in strategy within the Local Authority the Horizon Centre is scheduled to close in July 2020.

Holybrook Primary School has been asked by the Local Authority to consider opening a Resourced Provision for children with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This specialist provision will support up to 16 children from across the Bradford region who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The children will benefit from being in a mainstream school setting on a permeant basis but will receive additional support via personalised teaching and learning in smaller groups based within The Horizon Centre. Holybrook Primary School believes this provision will have a positive impact on the lives on young children by supporting them in making sustained progress as well as meeting their individual needs, in a smaller specialist environment.
